Artist Profile

72Blues

You won't find any ass kissin' or try-hards among these 4 bandits, just a good time dirty delta rock n' roll blues band that's been going strong on some rough roads for over 5 years now. 72Blues let the music do the walkin' and let the talkers just keep on talkin' baby. There ain't much tolerance for them there emulators now neither as we shout out to all the kick arse bands out there workin' hard at what they do to be original.

Melbourne, Australia's 72Blues, featuring Lizzy & Reggie Ray, originally from Windsor/Detroit (also from Melbourne's highly acclaimed Konqistador) with Ben Hall and Grant Emery - deliver a stinging blend of down south and signifying honkey rawkin-blues with their highly acclaimed debut CD release 'Said I Would' thru Timberyard Records distributed nationally thru Shock. Celebratin' old time traditional music, swing blues, delta blues, rock blues and nailing it with original, contemporary pop sensabilities. This mob of musos hen peck and scuffle a devilish blend of country-blues, swamp-blues, gospel rhythms, cotton field chants, gospel-blues and prison-blues on the wickedly raw Said I Would while the songs stream seamlessly together rejoicing in a 70 minute sinners sermon.

Devils music meets Divine Intervention you might say! But 72Blues keep things good and filthy with their follow up single She Like The Fux, Like Electrolux. This time sex sells and the suckers are lining up to hear it. Recorded in Motor City Detroit, USA - 72Blues package up a sizzler of a single with ZZ Tops Just Got Paid and a live in Studio 5 (PBS FM Melbourne) version of their previously released My Name ( P.W. Long). Shit just got electro too! And who says you cant f@ck up the blues just a little bit more? Remember, 72Blues fight dirty and write music with the same killer instinct, continually re-inventing their punch combination of old time blues traditions. Coming soon! "Sawbuck Says You Will" the new 72Blues Live CD recorded across the dirtiest of venues through Australia, Canada, USA, Europe and UK. Plus a couple of real old time ditties incl. 'Motherless Children' and 'Catfish Blues' recorded straight outta Ghetto Recorder Studios (with Producer Jim Diamond) in the Motor City, Detroit - Michigan!
